Seminars & Workshops

Half-day intensives on one specific threat — carjacking, edged weapon, and firearm defense.

A seminar covers one thing properly rather than six things loosely. You arrive in the morning, work a single scenario from every angle, and leave with something you did not have when you woke up. For many people this is the most straightforward way to begin — a few hours, a fixed date, no commitment beyond the day.

These also travel. If you have a group — a church, a running club, a neighbourhood, a company, a group of friends — any of these can be delivered at your location rather than waiting for a public date to align with your calendar.

Anti-carjacking covers what happens in and around a vehicle: approach patterns, conduct at a red light, seatbelts and confined space, when the vehicle is the weapon, and the fact that the correct answer is almost always to surrender the car and never the passengers.

Edged weapon defense is the most sobering block I teach, and I teach it honestly. Edged weapons are fast, quiet, and far more common than people assume. There is no clean disarm that works reliably, and anyone selling you one is selling you something. What exists: recognising it early, creating distance, managing the arm, using barriers, and accepting damage in the right places rather than the wrong ones.

Firearm defense covers the small number of situations where acting beats complying — contact distance, movement to a second location, and where compliance has already failed. Equally, it covers the far larger number of situations where compliance is correct, and how to tell the difference.

Begin with a conversation, not a commitment.

Tell me who the training is for and what concerns you. No sales process, and nobody will chase you.
